BRET MICHAELS Named 'Father Of The Year' By American Diabetes Association

April 8, 2010

In the first episode of "Celebrity Apprentice", with POISON singer Bret Michaels as the project manager, the men's team won the challenge and he raised $100,000 for ADA — the most raised by any celebrity this season. Nearly nine million people watched as Michaels' team won the task. He is still the only male project manager to win thus far.

Many of Bret's peers thought the "Rock of Love" star would be one and done by now. The harder the rocker works, the luckier he gets. Michaels has that blue collar and hardworking ethic he gives to all projects with creativity and passion.

In this week's episode, there will be many emotions when Bret receives some devastating personal news. Be sure to tune in this Sunday at 9 p.m. on NBC to see Bret Michaels vs. Donald Trump.

Michaels has teamed up with Procter & Gamble and Pantene's current spokesperson Stacy London and Julie Marchant-Houle, to select one woman to appear in the first reality national advertising spot. "We are thrilled to have an amazing talent like Bret join the Pantene family," commented Craig Bahner, vice president, North America Hair Care, Procter & Gamble. "We couldn't have found a better fit to help us launch Pantene's reinvention." The reality ad winner will also win the "Be the Rock Star You Are" experience from Bret Michaels, which will include tickets to one of his concerts this summer, first-class airfare, a ride in Michaels' tour bus, your own security guard and backstage passes. For this groundbreaking first reality TV commercial star, his simple tips for one lucky woman to win is "Have fun, be creative and be yourself."

Michaels, who is currently on a successful solo tour in support of his album "Custom Built" and the hit single "Nothing to Lose" featuring Miley Cyrus, which was recently the third most added song tying TAYLOR SWIFT and beating BON JOVI and LADY GAGA, just received a great honor for his work with American Diabetes Association. In June he will receive an honorary "Father of the Year" award at the American Diabetes Association Gala in Los Angeles.

Bret has two daughters, Raine — who is borderline diabetic — and Jorja-Bleu. He has been a Type 1 Diabetic since the age of six.

Bret will continue his solo tour throughout the year and in June and July fans can see him on tour with LYNYRD SKYNYRD and .38 SPECIAL.
